Why Harrogate deserves goodwill gesture over Nightingale Hospital – The Yorkshire Post says
For, while the new facility has, thankfully, not been required to treat Covid-19 patients, it is still a necessary contingency if there us a second wave in cases –this winter the contention of many leading public health experts.
And while Harrogate Borough Council is, to its credit, not charging the Government any rent for the building’s deployment, it will, at some point, need to fund nearly £50m to pay for the refurbishment of the acclaimed venue – one which attracts conference delegates, and tourists, to the town from all over the world. As such, it is to be hoped that the Government remembers this goodwill favourably when it receives a future request for funding.
