Finn is battling to keep hold of Tigers shirt for Headingley trip

They face Leeds Rhinos at Headingley on Thursday night knowing victory will see them usurp their fierce rivals from second place in Super League with just six rounds then to go.

Finn has been a revelation for Castleford – who have signed London Broncos’ Australian winger Denny Solomona on a two-year deal starting next term – following his switch from Featherstone Rovers last winter but was dropped by Daryl Powell for their recent win at Widnes.

The 30-year-old was re-instated on Friday, however, and proved instrumental, winning man-of-the-match in their 
44-30 success over Huddersfield Giants.

Now he is waiting to see if he is given the nod to try to dictate against the former champions, too.

“It’s always disappointing to be left out of the team,” said the Ireland captain.

“Daryl was pretty honest with me and said I wasn’t good enough the week before and we’d other players good enough to step in.

“Jamie Ellis has been playing really well on the right-hand side pivot as well. But I managed to get a go versus Huddersfield and hopefully I’ve done enough to be in there again this Thursday.

“Leeds v Cas games are the ones everyone looks forward to and, personally, I feel Headingley is one of the best rugby league grounds in the world.”

Hull FC have recalled hooker James Cunningham from his loan at London following an injury to Aaron Heremaia.
